More than a dozen former Trump administration officials on Friday came out in support of former chief of staff John Kelly, who went on the record this week to say the former president fits the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator and has no concept of the Constitution.
In a new letter, shared exclusively with POLITICO, the former Trump administration officials — some of the officials have been outspoken Trump critics for years — stated, “this is who Donald Trump is.”

Harris to make ‘closing argument’ speech at the site of Trump’s Jan. 6 remarks
The vice president plans a large rally a week before Election Day at the location in Washington where former President Donald Trump spoke ahead of the riot.
Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver a “closing argument” speech in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday at the site where former President Donald Trump spoke shortly before the Jan. 6 riot, according to a senior campaign official.
Harris will argue it’s time to turn the page on Trump and choose a new way forward, the official said. The address will contrast what a Harris term in office would like compared with another Trump presidency.
The event at the Ellipse, outside the White House, is timed for exactly one week before Election Day.

Trump says the U.S. is ‘like a garbage can for the world’ as he dials up immigration rhetoric
The former president has increasingly turned his focus to the border and undocumented immigrants in the closing stretch of the election.
“They unleashed an army of migrant gangs waging a campaign of violence,” said Trump, who regularly uses dehumanizing language when he talks about undocumented immigrants. “We're a dumping ground. We're like a garbage can for the world.”
