Harris appears on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as mirror image of Maya Rudolph with election looming

Harris made the surprise trip to New York City with the election looming, briefly stepping away from the battleground states where she’s been furiously campaigning in favor of NBC’s iconic sketch comedy show, where she was hoping to generate buzz and appeal to a nationwide audience.

Harris came to New York on Air Force Two after an early evening campaign stop Saturday on in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was scheduled to head to Detroit, but once in the air, aides said she’d be making an unscheduled stop and the plane landed at LaGuardia Airport.

Harris arrived at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan, where “SNL” tapes, shortly after 8 p.m., enough time for a quick rehearsal before the show airs live at 11:30 p.m. It is the final “SNL” episode before Election Day on Tuesday.

The visit wasn’t previously announced and an official familiar with Harris’ planning only officially confirmed it for reporters traveling with the vice president moments before the live airing began. The official insisted on anonymity to discuss plans before they were made public

⚠️Garbage Alert⚠️: Kamala Harris’ surprise appearance on ‘SNL’ accused of ‘ripping off’ Trump’s 2015 Fallon skit — and a Hillary Clinton joke 16 years ago

The presidential hopeful’s surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” has been accused of blatantly ripping off a 2015 TV skit by her rival, former President Donald Trump — as well as ill-fated turns by Hillary Clinton, including one just before she lost to Trump.

House Democrats called Wednesday (July 2024) for an ethics investigation into Federal Communications Commission leader Brendan Carr, arguing he improperly used his office after the commissioner authored a chapter in the controversial Project 2025 policy agenda that lays out a blueprint for former President Donald Trump to overhaul the executive branch.

Do the Covid vaccines provide long-lasting protection?

The CDC is recommending that older adults get a second Covid shot in the spring. How durable are the vaccines?

In October, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that high-risk adults get a second updated Covid vaccine to bolster their protection against the virus.

The agency now recommends that people ages 65 and up and those with weakened immune systems get a second dose of the 2024-25 vaccine six months after their first dose.

Pennsylvania officials denounce Halloween float appearing to depict Harris tied to golf cart

The local volunteer fire department that organizes the parade in Mount Pleasant apologized for the “offensive participants.”

Outrage has followed the release of a video from a Halloween parade in Pennsylvania that seemed to depict Vice President Kamala Harris tied to a golf cart carrying a man wearing a mask of former President Donald Trump.

The float moved along a main street in Mount Pleasant, a town of about 4,000 people located 45 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. The event was hosted by the local volunteer fire department.

In the video, a woman wearing a red suit walks slowly — and apparently tied — behind the golf cart, which is also carrying two men dressed like Secret Service agents and a man dressed like a sniper. What appeared to be a replica of an assault rifle is affixed to the hood of the vehicle, which has a Trump sign on the front.
