Trump Sues Pollster Ann Selzer and the Des Moines Register

Whiner-in-Chief and incoming POTUS Donald Trump filed a lawsuit Monday against pollster Ann Selzer and the Des Moines Register over a poll that showed Kamala Harris was leading Trump by three percentage points just before Election Day.

The lawsuit, filed in Polk county, Iowa, accuses the Register and pollster of violating Iowa’s consumer fraud laws by engaging in deception.

“Selzer’s polling ‘miss’ was not an astonishing coincidence — it was intentional,” the complaint states.

Trump went on to win Iowa by 14 points.

The lawsuit asks for an unspecified amount of damages and an order preventing the release of “any further deceptive polls” and compelling them to disclose information they relied upon in publishing the November survey.

The new lawsuit comes following the $15 million settlement between Trump and ABC News over a defamation lawsuit.

As an anonymous ABC executive quipped, “This problem needed to go away,” speculation over a settlement so early in the process has not gone away.

Some (MAGAts) think that ABC paid up because George Stephanopoulos lied about Trump, and some think ABC bowed to Trump to retain access.

Ken Turkel, a trial attorney at Turkel Cuva Barrios, who represents Sarah Palin in her resurrected defamation suit against the New York Times, said “you would have to consider” whether the discovery process unearthed emails or other internal ABC data that damaged the network’s case.

And another former lawyer-turned-conservative radio host agreed.
