White House says most New Jersey drones were authorized by FAA: ‘This was not the enemy’

Residents in New Jersey were concerned over the large amount of mysterious drones that flew above their homes, sparking conspiracy theories about the source.

The mysterious drones that caused alarm among many New Jersey residents last year were in large part authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration, the White House said Tuesday.

The large number of unexplained nighttime drone sightings in New Jersey and other East Coast states created a panic which at one point shut down an airport.

Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, now says many of those drones were authorized and known by the government.

A coalition of nonprofits, public health organizations and small businesses filed a lawsuit to block the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) memo instructing a pause on all agency grants and loans. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/…

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

All the executive orders Trump has signed after 1 week in office

President Trump promised to do a lot right from the start if elected, and he certainly did that.

During his first week in office, Trump signed dozens of executive orders affecting everything from immigration, climate change and oil exploration to health and medical research, as well as eliminating federal diversity programs, directives defining gender and much, much more.

Less than a week into the Trump administration and we’ve already blown through all of these.

Trump Admin. Axes Newly Created School Safety Board

The Trump administration has disbanded a school safety board that was recently assembled to advise federal agencies on best practices to protect students.

The Federal School Safety Clearinghouse External Advisory Board, which held its first meeting in October, included school safety experts, alongside the parents of children who died in school shootings, advocates for civil rights and disability rights, superintendents, and leaders of organizations that represent school and district administrators.

Three board members confirmed they’d received notice that the Department of Homeland Security planned to terminate current members of the board under an inauguration day directive that applies to all external advisory committees that work with the agency. Other DHS external advisory committees deal with issues like cybersecurity and infrastructure safety.

‘A Dangerous Virus’: Bird Flu Enters a New Phase

A pandemic is not inevitable, scientists say. But the outbreak has passed worrisome milestones in recent weeks, including cattle that may have been reinfected.

When bird flu first struck dairy cattle a year ago, it seemed possible that it might affect a few isolated herds and disappear as quickly as it had appeared.

Instead, the virus has infected more than 900 herds and dozens of people, killing one, and the outbreak shows no signs of abating.

A human pandemic is not inevitable, even now, more than a dozen experts said in interviews. But a series of developments over the past few weeks indicates that the possibility is no longer remote.

Toothless guidelines, inadequate testing and long delays in releasing data — echoes of the missteps during the Covid-19 pandemic — have squandered opportunities for containing the outbreak, the experts said.

BROWN: Would you support getting rid of school lunch for vulnerable kids and getting rid of childhood cancer research?REP. MCCORMICK: Philanthropy is where you get most of your money for childhood cancer research. When you talk about school lunches, hey, I worked my way through high school.

After indicating that he supports getting rid of free school lunches and funding for childhood cancer research, Rep. Rich McCormick refers to RFK Jr as "JFK Jr" and asks, "when in history have we had our poorest people also be our fattest people?" Total clown show.
