Ten Democrats joined with House Republicans on Thursday to censure Rep. Al Green for his protest during Donald Trump’s rally in Congress on Tuesday.
The resolution stated that Green’s behavior was “a breach of proper conduct,” and passed by 224 to 198 votes.
As Speaker of the Clown House Mike Johnson read the vote, Green was ordered to stand in the well to receive his censure.
As Green moved to the well, he joined several Democrats who began to sing “We Shall Overcome” as Green shook his cane with the singing.
Republicans shouted at Democrats.
Speaker Johnson gaveled out after Democrats refused to quit singing and leave the well.
