Happy Friday News Viewers on this 25th day of April. . . .and here we go again, waking up to that feeling, that what we thought could be a bad situation has taken a red right turn toward a really really bad situation. One day a dufus president and his gang of enablers, the next day, a Federal Government in disarray, our national security an open book for all to see, a world of leaders excluding us, an economy on the slide and people disappearing off the streets. Oh yeah. And then there are the nukes. . . .
We have been circling this drain for awhile, in fact, it’s been our lot over the past decade to suffer the daily crazy which Trump dumps on our heads. But the winds are turning. This is feeling like a Perfect Storm where Donald fades into insignificance as the chaos he set in motion becomes blindingly significant. Others rise to power. Parts start falling into place, those parts that begin to cement themselves, brick by brick, into that new society we’ve been dreading, the Authoritarian society. And the Authorities are the oligarchs who like the world as the All for Me and None for Thee wasteland it actually already is.
It could be we missed the point of no return. Maybe we aren’t a democracy, or a republic represented by our own voices any more; maybe the constitution, the rule of law, the separation of powers, all of it, maybe it’s too late. Trump says we’re in transition. He may be partially right, though it’s just not just the transition he thinks it is. . .
