White House national security adviser Mike Waltz is leaving the Trump misadministration just weeks after a Signalgate scandal included a journalist on a group chat with Secretary of Defense and DUI hire Pete Hegseth discussing military plans.
Apparently, Waltz adding Atlantic journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a chat on the encrypted messaging app Signal leaves the former three-term Florida U.S. Representative insufficiently loyal to Team Orange.
Deputy advisor Alex Wong is also expected to spend more time with his family.
Waltz was absent at a bigly beautiful event at the White House Rose Garden celebrating the National Day of Prayer on Thursday. Many other high level cabinet members were in attendance.
It seems like only yesterday Waltz was praising Trump and disrespecting President Biden at a cabinet bootlicking roundtable at the White House. Trump also told the Atlantic earlier this week that Waltz’s job was “safe.”
Agent Orange also told the Atlantic that he expected DUI hire Pete Hegseth to remain at the Pentagon.
“Yeah, he’s safe,” Trump said of Hegseth.
