NPR and Colorado public radio stations sue Trump White House
NPR and three Colorado public radio stations filed suit Tuesday morning in federal court against the Trump White House over the president’s executive order that purportedly bars the use of Congressionally appropriated funds for NPR and PBS.
“It is not always obvious when the government has acted with a retaliatory purpose in violation of the First Amendment. ‘But this wolf comes as a wolf,'” states the legal brief for the public broadcasters. “The Order targets NPR and PBS expressly because, in the President’s view, their news and other content is not ‘fair, accurate, or unbiased’.”

Trump Pardoned Tax Cheat After Mother Attended $1 Million Dinner
Paul Walczak’s pardon application cited his mother’s support for the president, including raising millions of dollars and a connection to a plot to publicize a Biden family diary.
As Paul Walczak awaited sentencing early this year, his best hope for avoiding prison time rested with the newly inaugurated president.
Mr. Walczak, a former nursing home executive who had pleaded guilty to tax crimes days after the 2024 election, submitted a pardon application to President Trump around Inauguration Day. The application focused not solely on Mr. Walczak’s offenses but also on the political activity of his mother, Elizabeth Fago.
Ms. Fago had raised millions of dollars for Mr. Trump’s campaigns and those of other Republicans, the application said. It also highlighted her connections to an effort to sabotage Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s 2020 campaign by publicizing the addiction diary of his daughter Ashley Biden — an episode that drew law enforcement scrutiny.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Tuesday that he would remove the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention‘s recommendation for children and healthy pregnant women to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

The FBI is refocusing on three, high-profile cases that emerged just before and during the Biden administration, Dan Bongino, the deputy director of the FBI, announced Monday on X.
The FBI wants to revive or invest more resources into cases that Bongino said pointed to “potential public corruption,” including the investigation into a pair of undetonated pipe bombs left near the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters on Jan. 5, 2021, and the discovery of a bag of cocaine at the White House over July 4 weekend in 2023.

‘Duck Dynasty’ founding father Phil Robertson dies at 79
The patriarch of the Louisiana family featured on A&E since 2009 had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Phil Robertson, the bearded patriarch of A&E Network’s “Duck Dynasty,” has died, his family announced Sunday.
He was 79.
“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” his daughter-in-law Korie Robertson, wife of Willie Robertson, posted on Facebook.
While Robertson’s cause of death has not yet been disclosed, the family had revealed in December that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
