Video: Sen. Alex Padilla removed from news conference with Homeland Security Secretary Noem
Sen. Alex Padilla was forcibly removed from a news conference Thursday morning with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Noem was speaking in Los Angeles about recent ICE operations in the region when Padilla was removed from the room after saying, “You insist on exaggerating.” At least two men approached Padilla, a Democrat, near a wall and removed him through doors near the rear of the room.
Noem continued speaking to the room of reporters and law enforcement officers.

Judge in Harvey Weinstein trial declares mistrial on rape charge
The judge overseeing Harvey Weinstein’s criminal trial in Manhattan declared a mistrial Thursday, June 12, on a third-degree rape charge against the former Hollywood movie mogul, after one of the jurors refused to continue deliberations.
Weinstein had been found guilty one day earlier on a separate sex-abuse charge, on the fifth day of jury deliberations.
Air India flight bound for London crashes, sole survivor identified
LONDON − A London-bound Air India passenger plane with more than 200 people on board crashed shortly after taking off from an airport in India’s western city of Ahmedabad, the airline and police officials said June 12.
Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British national, appears to be the sole survivor.
G.S. Malik, Ahmedabad’s police chief, told Indian news media that Ramesh may have survived what no one else did. However, local officials have not yet definitively concluded that everyone aboard the jet was killed.
Authorities have yet to release any information about what may have caused the crash.
