North Carolina GOP Sen. Thom Tillis says he is enjoying the “pure freedom to call the balls and strikes as I see fit” for the 18 months left in his term. That freedom comes from announcing his decision to not seek re-election following Trump’s threat to primary him for being one of two Republicans to vote against the Big BS Bill.
With the newfound freedom, Tillis called out Trump’s White House advisers’ misinformation, and warned Trump of betraying a promise he made to Americans that he would not interfere with Medicaid.
“I’m telling the president that you have been misinformed. You supporting the Senate mark will hurt people who are eligible and qualified for Medicaid,” Tillis said, criticizing Trump’s White House advisers as “amateurs.”
