Elon Musk announced on Saturday that he is forming a new political party, the “America Party,” in response to the Big BS Bill that he claims will bankrupt the country.
Reaction has been mixed.
Later in the day of the announcement, an investor firm poised to list a Tesla ETF (exchange-traded fund) appeared to show disappointment by postponing the implementation of the fund.
Azoria Partners is asking Tesla’s board to clarify Musk’s intentions after having committed to focusing on Tesla instead of politics.
However, some surprising interest has been piqued.
The Mooch backed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, as well as billionaire investor Mark Cuban.
Cuban has previously assessed Musk as “thin-skinned” and said he is “his own worst enemy” for turning X into a “cesspool of hate.”
There was also some interest in those who have sought to run for president.
Libertarian and former Michigan congressman Justin Amash re-tweeted Musk’s announcement, and followed up with criticisms of the two-party system and MAGA.
Amash was one of ten representatives who voted to impeach Trump and was primaried out of his district (note: my district).
