While we work to allow people to submit articles to News Views, we also need some volunteer columnists who want to hone their current or future writing skills and be willing to write their own material on a regular basis.
We need a number of columnists to write on a wide range of topics including: current political affairs, environment, science, health, technology, entertainment, and sports.
As a News Views columnist, we are looking for people who meet the following qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Subject matter knowledge
- Ability to work independently but collaborate and communicate with other team members on a regular basis
- Proficiency in online blogging and or publishing tools
- College level critical thinking and analysis skills
- Research skills
- Proofreading
In addition, meeting one or more of the criteria on the list below will be a definite plus:
Preferred qualifications
- Prior writing experience
- Knowledgeable in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles
- Understanding digital marketing tactics
