At least 6 people were killed and others injured when a tornado struck Nashville and its surrounding areas in the early morning hours of Tuesday.
Around 12:30 am, two people were killed in the eastern part of the city, while in Putnam County to the east 3 died, and in Benton County another person died.
Nashville’s fire department reported at least 40 structure collapses, with many in the downtown and eastern districts.
The towns of Mount Juliet and Lebanon were struck hard as well, with reports of many damaged homes and downed power lines, as well as injuries.
