Hey seniors! If re-elected, Trump’s coming for your Social Security and Medicare

How do you like him now? No new knees for you!

Trump held a bigly town hall with a few whomevers from Fox ‘News.’ When asked about the national debt, of course Trump blamed Obama but also said that if re-elected, he will definitely make cuts to Social Security and Medicare because we will have growth like we’ve never seen so those cuts will somehow not matter.

“Mr. President about national debt and since being present you signed into law $4.7 trillion of debt including $2.1 trillion of discretionary spending,” Baier noted. “When you ran for president — at one point, you said you would pay off the diet within 80 years. Now about four years in, the debt is up $3.5 trillion that’s about 18 percent.

“So this would be a focus of a second term?” Baier asked.

“Oh, absolutely,” Trump confirmed. “But when the trade deals kick in, now we were disturbed by what’s going on with the virus, but it’s going to be fine and, everybody, it’s going to be fine. But that was a disturbance.”

“Oh, we’ll be cutting,” Trump rushed to confirm. “But we’re also going to have growth like you’ve never had before.”

During his 2016 campaign, Trump promised he would not make cuts to Social Security and Medicare “like every other Republican.”

Mediaite:

Trump has already proposed cuts to both Social Security and Medicare. Last month, Trump tweeted, “We will not be touching your Social Security and Medicare in Fiscal 2021 Budget.”

However, his budget proposal indicates that Trump’s $4.8 trillion budget includes “steep reductions in social-safety-net programs,” including cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security disability programs:

The White House proposes to cut spending by $4.4 trillion over a decade. Of that, it targets $2 trillion in savings from mandatory spending programs, including $130 billion from changes to Medicare prescription-drug pricing, $292 billion from safety-net cuts—such as work requirements for Medicaid and food stamps—and $70 billion from tightening eligibility access to disability benefits.

The two coots have Twitter sparred since Tuesday.
