Qanta Ahmed, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, appeared on Laura Ingraham’s Fox ‘News’ show and escalated the recent attacks on “Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) over their planned visit to — and subsequent ban from — Israel.”
In the segment, Ahmed claimed the two congresswomen were terrorist sympathizers, a disgrace to Muslims, deny the Holocaust, and suffer from some made up syndrome she called, “Holocaust envy.”
“They are using Islamist tactics to invert reality,” Ahmed said. “What they are seeking —they have a grotesque Holocaust envy, and just hear me out on that. Islamists envy what they see as the special mark upon the Jewish people that is the membership of genocide. It’s a terrible thing that befell the Jewish people, but Islamists envy it.”
On Monday, Reps. Omar and Tlaib held a press conference in which, “they sharply criticized Israel or denying them entry to the Jewish state and called on fellow members of Congress to visit while they cannot.“
Rep. Tlaib became quite emotional during her speech. At one point, she broke out in tears when saying she would not travel to Israel under such oppressive conditions meant to humiliate her to visit her 90 year-old grandmother.
“We all decided as a family that I could not go until I was a free, American, United States congresswoman.
She said I’m her dream manifested. I am her free bird,” Tlaib added of her grandmother, holding back tears. “So why would I come back and be caged and bow down when my election rose her head up high?”
Of course, Trump doesn’t ‘buy’ Rep. Tlaib’s tears and just had to tweet about it.
White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley went on Fox and also attacked the two Congresswomen and accused them of wanting to destroy Israel. He then went on to claim the Democratic Party encourages hate towards Israel.
