Multiple people were dead and dozens were unaccounted for after a diving boat caught fire Monday morning off the coast of Santa Cruz Island, north of Los Angeles, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
The U.S. Coast guard would not confirm the deaths, but said crews were searching for 34 people who had not yet been rescued from the blaze on the 75-foot vessel.

According to the Coast Guard, the boat continues to reignite. Once they put out one fire, a new one begins because of the amount of fuel on board.
