As I woke this morning to -8 degrees, I could smell the coffee from the kitchen (thanks, Hubs!), but in order to get some in my belly, it would mean leaving my warm blankets behind.
Sure the furnace works just fine, possibly even better than my own inner thermostat. But there’s some other inner sense telling me that tugging an extra layer over my feet might be more rewarding than getting up for a deep mug of dark roast.
But alas, Coffee Talk awaits, and a day of chatting is to commence.
Coffee Talk gives you the freedom to choose what you want to talk about — see, no matter what the detractors say, we’re not fascists here at NewsViews. Coffee Talk simply adds another layer, with a suggested topic to get things warmed up — no pun intended.
Today’s Topic:
With President Biden heating things up in the news with a spicy bit of off-the-cuff commentary at the expense of Peter Doocy, I’ve been noticing the wingnut trolling machine is in turbo mode.
When it’s eight below, 34 degrees, or 85 degrees — name your favorite flavor of ice cream? And what’s the best topping?
We know Joe loves his vanilla. I hate to be vanilla, but I’m agreeing — as long as it’s homemade.
Mom used to buy Neopolitan, so her three kids could have options, but things have progressed far beyond three flavors to flavors with three-word names — like Triple Caramel Chunk, Peanut Butter World, and Mackinac Island Fudge.
And toppings? Endless — I like a good Turtle Sundae, or fresh strawberries when in season.
At any rate, it’s great to think about Ice Cream Season on a bitterly cold day, or any day that ends in “Y.”
Happy Thursday and enjoy your free chat while I go pour another cup of Joe.
