On Tuesday, Former FBI Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok filed a law suit against the Justice Department (DoJ) and FBI alleging both agencies violated his First Amendment rights by terminating him after finding numerous text messages expressing his political views about then, candidate Trump. Strzok also alleges his termination violated his due process rights as well as his privacy by sharing his text messages with reporters .
The FBI claims it terminated Strzok for violating department policies. However, Strzok claims the agency terminated him mainly because of political pressure from Trump.
“The Trump Administration has consistently tolerated and even encouraged partisan political speech by federal employees, as long as this speech praises President Trump and attacks his political adversaries.”
Strzok and former partner Lisa Page exchanged approximately one thousand text messages while working together at the FBI as counter intelligence agents on both the Hillary Clinton email scandal and Russian investigation into our elections.
Right wing pundits, numerous conservatives, as well as avid Trump supporters have focused on and targeted both of them. Based partly on their text messages, they have concluded the Russia investigation was politically motivated and part of some elaborate plot to undermine Trump.
FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who headed the Clinton & Russia investigations, texted to his lover Lisa Page, in the IG Report, that “we’ll stop” candidate Trump from becoming President. Doesn’t get any lower than that!

Strzok seeks undisclosed monetary damages and reinstatement to his former job.
