Happy Monday Peeps, welcome to Free Range, our News Views Monday open thread where there is no set topic because there are all kinds of topics, ranging here, there, everywhere, hence the name, Free Range.

As it happens, today is Independence day, the day Independence from England was declared by the 2nd Continental Congress with the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

There is a list of 27 grievances listed on the Declaration explaining why we must leave our control freak, authoritarian and INSANE “Dad” and set up our own digs, control ourselves, morph into our own authority figures. Comes a time when we have to leave the home we grew up in and set up a home of our own.

“Time to try, little eaglets, you have to learn to fly on your own some time. I don’t want any Incel babies in my nest, time to find your own turf. That’s Independence, so take the risk and fly. … ”

Baby Eagle says ”oh sh*t”. … 🤨

On this Independence Day, let’s talk about independence, freedom, grievances and insane poser wannabe kings. Lately we’ve felt our freedom slipping away, as if we’re being forced to return to the old homestead where Mom and Dad wear black robes and call the shots. But freedom and independence are not the same thing—our independence has been declared, signed and sealed. We said it to King George and we say it to Justices and politicians and churches now.

Like Jane Eyre (that’s us) said to Mr. Rochester (that’s Mad King George or Mad _____________insert name here) ……

”I do not think, sir, you have any right to command me, merely because you are older than I, or because you have seen more of the world than I have; your claim to superiority depends on the use you have made of your time and experience.” ——Jane Eyre

So Happy Independence Day folks; let’s talk about how we make sure we stay Independent. … . .
