The Trump administration exempted numerous Chinese products from tariffs while the two countries figure out how they want to resolve their Trade War.
The items total approximately $250 billion dollars in good and include the following items: “retractable dog leashes and harnesses, Christmas lights, bicycles, tiki torches, certain grill equipment and a variety of refrigerators, freezers and coolers.”

During a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday, Trump told the press he doesn’t need a trade deal with China to win the 2020 election. He believes that a deal or no deal with the country will have no impact the election results.
“I don’t think I need it before the election. I think people know that we’re doing a great job,” Trump told reporters during a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday.
“I don’t think it has any impact on the election,” Trump said later, adding, “Now if something happened, I think that would probably be positive for the election, but that’s OK.”
Trump still claims China pays for the tariffs and not US consumers.
