Coffee Talk

Good morning, friends, we’re at another Thursday morning again with lots of problems to solve.

When stopping by Coffee Talk on Thursdays, we can solve problems, we can chat about anything (or nothing), or we can adopt a “problem-free philosophy.”

Today’s Topic

That so-and-so sawed-off governor of Florida is still at it, fighting the woke in the state where woke goes to die. Of course, you may not need to be woke to be at risk in Florida, thanks to the state’s weird and deadly health policies (Covid-19 and abortion bans), and a no-permit concealed carry law.

~Eye-roll~

Also, this was just yesterday:

The Florida Board of Education approved a ban on classroom instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in all grades — banning lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity from grades 4-12 (unless required by existing state standards or as part of reproductive health instruction that students can choose not to take).

What does a disclaimer like that mean? Sounds like a media sound bite, without much meat on the bone.

Also yesterday:

DeSantis’ new Disney board asked lawyers to find a way to void an agreement that retained Disney’s control over its property during a 4-hour meeting at Lake Buena Vista.

“The bottom line is that Disney engaged in a caper worthy of Scrooge McDuck to try to evade Florida law,” one of those lawyers proclaimed.

Members of the Anti-Woke Board also discussed ways to increase taxes on Disney to help pay for a legal battle; fired planning board officials and appointed themselves to replace them; and began to explore the possibility of building low-income housing on land abutting the resort. The board also discussed adding swimming pool inspections (there are 267 pools at Disney hotels and water parks), and oversight of alcohol licenses and road safety.

Disney World is a 25,000-acre resort, which employs 75,000 people and attracts 50 million visitors annually. Without having to visit Florida, I’m supporting Disney by enjoying a multitude of Disney ventures.

The list of Walt Disney Company assets seems to go on and on per Wikipedia, far reaching outside of the Lake Buena Vista, Florida, theme park.

Disney Entertainment encompasses film, television, and streaming products like Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, Walt Disney Studios and Theatrical Productions, music, concerts….

Television ventures include ABC Entertainment, Freeform, FX Networks, National Geographic, ABC News, A&E, Lifetime…

How do you choose to support Disney’s fight against the Anti-Woke, Sawed-Off Fascist Governor of Florida?

Of course, Coffee Talk is the free chat forum of News Views, where we freely allow free speech, as long as you’re not mean-spirited against others and maybe a handful of other exceptions. Easy rule, don’t be like Ron and we should be good to go. Hakuna Matata.

You’ve got the floor from here. Have a great Thursday.
