Jordan Klepper Shares a Pint with Gretchen Whitmer

Jordan Klepper brought The Daily Show to Bell’s Brewery in Michigan and shared a pint of Oberon with Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday night.

It turns out Klepper was born in Kalamazoo and graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2001.

The two talked about politics before grabbing a shovel to help “fix the damn roads,” as was Whitmer’s campaign slogan.

“We’re trying to make Michigan a place where every business can thrive and every person has rights and freedoms to make their own decisions and to live the life they want and be successful here in Michigan,” she said.

Whitmer also criticized conservative leaders in states like Florida who “pick fights and get headlines.”

The weird QAnon Michigan GOP chairwoman Kristina Karamo also came up in the conversation, but “I don’t have time for people who want to call Beyonce satanic,” the governor said.

Governor Whitmer makes me want an Oberon.

It is 5:00 somewhere… and I’m designating this space as a free chat if you want an adult beverage as well — or even if you don’t.
