On Friday Anheuser-Busch announced that Vice President of Marketing Alissa Heinerscheid had taken a “leave of absence,” but MAGA world’s anti-trans hate club is claiming victory that their rage prompted a firing.
After Bud Light shared an Instagram post that congratulated Dylan Mulvaney on her first year as a woman, conservatives railed against the beer maker. Lawmakers like Ron DeSantis and Dan Crenshaw called for boycotts across social media, and eventually threats of violence including bomb threats to several of its facilities caught the attention of Anheuser-Busch.
Bud Light critics think the boycotts are affecting their stock performance, but with its first quarter results expected on May 4, analysts aren’t expecting anything more than a blip in their global financial standing.
However, marketing experts say that the safety of their employees weighs on any company’s decision making process more than a temporary glitch in sales.
(Speaking of bombs…)
