Trump won Ohio by 8 points in 2016. He promised to bring back manufacturing jobs to boarded up Youngstown and other Rust Belt cities but failed to deliver. He even urged Youngstown voters, “Don’t sell your house.”
Fast forward three + years and Trump has some trouble in the “Buckeye” state.
Emerson College in Massachusetts released a poll showing Trump trailing narrowly behind the top-three Democratic presidential candidates. His job approval rating stands at a paltry 42.6%. As with most polls and in reality, Trump does not do well with women and minorities. But, he’s even lost some support among white males in Ohio.
On impeachment, Ohioans appear in favor of impeaching Trump but just by a few percentage points. 42.7% of Ohioans support impeachment while 39.3% oppose.
The poll is within the margin of error and it’s still early. But, no Republican has won the presidency without winning OHIO!
