FBI Identifies 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as Trump’s would be Assassin

No, MAGAts, Thomas Matthew Crooks wasn’t some raging, commie leftist; he was a registered Republican who was shot wearing some notorious gun nut shirt. Based on his one time political donation, he could actually be a ‘Never Trumper.’

The FBI identified the 20-year-old Pennsylvania resident who was killed after trying to assassinate Trump as Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Crooks was a resident of Bethel Park, a village about 55 miles south of the shooting scene in Butler, Pennsylvania.

He was registered to vote as a Republican. But records show that his one known political donation, for $15 in 2021, was to Act Blue, a group that supports Democratic candidates.

Crooks was killed after firing several shots from a rooftop overlooking the rally site.

Crooks was not carrying identification at the time of the shooting. Investigators spent hours confirming his suspected identity.

Bethel Park is a predominantly white, relatively well-to-do city in the southern reaches of greater Pittsburgh. The site of the rally, Butler, is about an hour’s drive north of Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania voter records listed a Thomas Matthew Crooks with the same address and birth date as a registered Republican, though it was not clear from the records when that was put in place.

***News Views monitored information about the identity of the shooter but since the New York Post came out first with the news, we wanted to be sure of its accuracy. The motive for the attempted assassination is still not known.
