The criminally indicted, pathological lying, kicked to the curb, former Congresscritter, George Santos, will plead guilty to federal criminal charges in the Eastern District of New York on Monday. Santos is currently facing 23 federal charges related to a number of different schemes, including a scheme to defraud the COVID-19 unemployment benefits system.
Santos’ criminal trial is currently scheduled for early September, but a new status conference set for Monday has many believing that Santos will be entering a guilty a plea to avoid going to trial on the charges.
Santos currently faces the possibility of decades in federal prison if he is convicted on all of the criminal charges, but if he takes a plea deal on Monday, he will likely face prison time, but much less than if he were convicted at trial.
