In what seemed like a desperate attempt to defend Trump in his gross photo-op at Arlington National Cemetery, weird Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance mustered the courage to say that Kamala Harris “can go to hell” when asked about an altercation at the cemetery.
Let’s take a closer look.
- Trump was politicizing the third anniversary of the Islamic State bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members during the evacuation from Afghanistan, and took photos with family members where Arlington officials attempted to enforce rules that Trump’s campaign ignored.
- Vance, at a campaign event in Pennsylvania, blamed the media for “creating a story where I really don’t think that there is one.” Vance said that military families invited Trump to their loved one’s gravesite, but then took the opportunity to criticize Biden and the fateful withdrawal from Afghanistan that ended 13 lives.
- Vance suggested that Harris wouldn’t allow an investigation. “They died because Kamala Harris refused to do her job, and there hasn’t been a single investigation or a single firing.” There have been several investigations of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
- Harris also hasn’t commented on the cemetery incident, contrary to Vance’s suggestion.
