House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said Thursday that his House panel is conducting an impeachment inquiry into Trump.
He initially made the comments on CNN then repeated them on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show”

More than half of the members in the House of Representatives support bringing forth Articles of Impeachment against Donald Trump.
“The fact is, we are doing an investigation. We are investigating the facts, investigating the evidence,” Nadler said. “We are going into court to get witnesses all with a view toward deciding and recommending to the House whether to impeach the president.”
Even Fox reported on impending impeachment proceedings but misrepresented some facts:
As of August 8, 2019, 119 Representatives support impeachment proceedings.
Coincidentally, Chairman Nadler’s announcement falls on the 45th anniversary of Nixon’s resignation.
Take heart: OTD Richard Nixon resigned after a group of GOP senators (led by conservative Barry Goldwater) told him he would definitely be impeached. Note: Today, Jerry Nadler stated on @maddow & elsewhere that an impeachment investigation was underway. https://t.co/TzD2pHpcdZ
