Ohio Senate Candidate Bernie Moreno Thinks Abortion is Not an Issue for Women Over 50

During a town hall event in Ohio last week, Senate Republican candidate Bernie Moreno questioned why women over 50 care about abortion so much, saying it was a “little crazy” that these women were solely focused on being able to get an abortion.

Moreno’s campaign defended the statement, suggesting it was a joke.

Campaign spox said the comments were meant to target Brown and “members of the left-wing media” that like to “pretend that the only issue that matters to women voters is abortion.”

A Pew Research poll earlier this month showed that abortion rights were “very important” to Kamala Harris supporters, while only a third of MAGAts said the same.

Moreno, 57, is running against Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown in the most expensive race in the cycle, as Republicans try to take back the Senate.
