Whitmer Triggers Republicans and Catholics With a Dorito

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer participated in posting a video reenactment of a TikTok trend, which showed her feeding a Dorito to podcaster Liz Plank. In the process, Big Gretch drew ire from the usual suspects and some Catholics who called the act “blasphemous.”

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, claimed she intentionally ridiculed the Eucharist, saying, “There is no way to understand this stunt other than as an expression of vintage anti-Catholic bigotry.”

Plank the podcaster made the connection of the Dorito chip to the CHIPS Act, dismissing the weird thought that the Dorito was a replacement for the eucharistic holy cracker.

Similar “feeding someone” videos on TikTok show individuals being fed food by a friend before the camera pans back to the person offering the food, who is often wearing an uncomfortable expression. Most of the videos are set to the song “Dilemma.”

During the podcast Whitmer and Plank poked fun at the term “post-birth abortion” and again triggered the usual suspects.

Some Michigan Republicans accused Whitmer of being “weird” or “bizarre,” complaining that Democrats call JD Vance weird in comparison.
