Apple’s CEO Tim Cook met with Trump on Friday at Mar-a-Lago during a week when other CEOs are donating spare change to the Trump inaugural fund.
Cook is the latest in a string of big tech leaders — including OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos — who have bent the knee to Trump in order to improve their standing with an incoming tyrant/dictator president.
Zuckerberg, Bezos, and Altman have plans to donate $1 million to the inaugural broligarch fest.
Trump has said he spoke to Cook by phone less than two months ago, and soon after Apple lost its last appeal in a dispute with the EU over 13 billion euros ($14.34 billion) in back taxes to Ireland.
