Some congressional Republicans have also questioned the moves at the department. Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, who was a key vote in advancing Kennedy’s nomination as secretary, called on HHS last week to “indefinitely postpone” a scheduled vaccine advisory committee meeting. He said the CDC departures “will require oversight by the HELP Committee,” which he chairs.
