As Robert Kennedy Jr has launched an assault on the Health and Human Services Department’s vaccine development and recommendations, Florida this week moved to end vaccine mandates for schoolchildren, comparing them to slavery.
At Friday’s gilded gaggle at the White House, Trump responded to Florida’s “very tough” announcement, with an endorsement of vaccines, some of which he called “amazing.”
Among the “amazing” vaccines, Trump listed the polio vax, and the Covid vax.
In a fiery hearing before Congress this week, Kennedy refused to acknowledge that more than a million Americans died from Covid during the pandemic, reluctant to admit Covid vaccines saved lives.
“I don’t know how many died,” Kennedy said. “I don’t think anybody knows because there was so much data chaos coming out of the CDC.”
From Reuters, Trump still backs Kennedy despite the controversial consequences:
The consequences of those changes for Americans and their wellness are vast, public health professionals warn. They also carry possible political peril: If an outbreak of an infectious disease occurs after vaccination rates go down, Trump could be blamed.
