Today in Fascism: Trump Says the Quiet Part Out Loud, “‘We Took the Freedom of Speech Away”

Of course The Fascist Felon referred to flag burning when he made his fascist and wannabe dictator statement but, with him and his fascist beliefs, obliterating the First Amendment will not stop with only flag burning.

At a White House event devoted to his campaign against “Antifa” that featured other fascists who kiss his ass on a minute by minute basis, Trump made the comment that “we took the freedom of speech away.”

Trump thinks he banned flag burning by rebranding it as incitement. Oddly no one at the DOJ seems interested in testing out this spiffy new legal theory. youtu.be/elBEEq5gwRQ?…

Just to be clear, SCOTUS held that flag burning is protected speech in the landmark case, Texas v. Johnson. The court found that First Amendment rights are not limited to verbal or written speech. While the ruling said states may seek to prevent “imminent lawless action,” it added that actions such as Johnson’s are and should be a protected right.

Similar to many court rulings and past legislation, Trump simply ignores them and conjures up his own laws, including the sentence for not following them, like most authoritarian ‘leaders’ do.

Just like ICE Barbie, The Fascist Felon has no clue what Habeas Corpus is:

Trump took questions from reporters on Wednesday in the State Dining Room of the White House, where he hosted an “Antifa roundtable.” The president has claimed in recent weeks that Antifa, a catchall term for far-left activists, has been responsible for civil unrest in U.S. cities such as Portland, Oregon.

Noem thinks habeas corpus is the president’s constitutional right to remove people from the country. Trump? Thinks Habeas is a person.

On Wednesday, a seemingly MAGA reporter asked Trump, “Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus to not only deal with these insurrectionists across the nation, but also to continue rapidly deporting illegal aliens?”

“Suspending who?” Trump responded.

Habeas corpus,” came the reply.

“I don’t know,” the president said. “I’d rather leave that to Kristi. What do you think?”

“Sir, I haven’t been part of any discussions on that,” Noem said.
