In a late night hissy fit, The Fascist Felon, Donald J. Trump, took to his shithole, ‘Truth’ Social, to post that all trade talks with Canad would end.

What triggered the thin skinned, man-child this time was an ad that the Ontario, Canada’s government purchased and broadcasted on major US television networks. Trump called it fake and an attempt to sway an inevitable SCOTUS ruling on his stupid tariffs.
“High tariffs inevitably lead to retaliation by foreign countries, and the triggering of fierce trade wars.”
-Ronald Reagan
What to Know:
The ad features Ronald Reagan’s voice and snippets from a speech he made in 1987.
This is the Canada ad Trump lost his mind over. Shocker, he’s lying—it is Reagan’s real voice. He’s now cutting off trade with Canada because he’s scared it could mess with the Supreme Court case over his “reciprocal” tariffs.

- Ontario’s ad is an edited, heavily condensed version of a Ronald Reagan speech, but the sentiment is unchanged and an accurate reflection of the former president’s views on protectionism.
- The ad rearranges Reagan’s words, quotes only part of some sentences. and removes some of the very specific original context.
- Reagan made this particular speech because he just imposed tariffs on Japan in a dispute over semiconductors, which was contrary to his economic policies.
- The crux of the ad is unchanged: Reagan’s speech was anti-protectionist and he did say, referring to his own tariffs, that “over the long run such trade barriers hurt every American worker and consumer.”
The Reagan Foundation said it was considering its legal options regarding the ad, which it said misrepresents the remarks and used the speech without permission. But that legality issue aside, it’s not clear in what way Reagan’s words were misrepresented.
What is truly ‘fake’ is the fact that The Fascist Felon claimed Ronald Reagan loved tariffs; he did not.
“Now, imposing such tariffs or trade barriers and restrictions of any kind are steps that I am loathed to take, …As I’ve often said, our commitment to free trade is also a commitment to fair trade.”
-Ronald Reagan
Q: On this ad that President Trump was referring to about Canada and Ronald Reagan, have you seen the ad yourself? KEVIN HASSETT: I'm not gonna talk about that
