When it comes to state convictions, only the governor of said state can grant a pardon to the convicted felon or commute their sentence . However, the way things work has not stopped The Fascist Felon from taking to his ‘shithole,’ Truth Social to announce he has issued a ‘pardon’ for former Mesa County, CO elections clerk, Tina Peters, who was convicted of state charges in Colorado last year.
Tina Peters, a Trump supporter and former clerk of Mesa County, was found guilty of tampering with voting machines after the 2020 election. At her trial last year, Peters was convicted of helping a non-public employee gain access to the county’s voting machines. Upon receiving access, the individual took county passwords and proprietary information about the machines, which were made by Dominion Voting Systems. Trump and his allies have alleged that the company helped rig the 2020 election against him.
Peters, 70, was sentenced in October 2024. She is being held at the La Vista Correctional Facility in Pueblo.
A federal judge in Colorado recently denied Peters’ request to be released pending an appeal.
Colorado State Officials Respond:
AG Weiser says Colorado will not release Tina Peters from the state prison in Pueblo if Peters' attorneys or representatives of President Trump show up and attempt to remove her from state custody.
