A Brown University shooter killed two people and wounded nine others in a classroom on Saturday as the university was administering final exams. The shooter was taken into custody on Sunday morning.
A video was released on Saturday of a person believed to be the shooter leaving the scene.
Trump also shared false information that the shooter was in custody.
The shooter was armed with a handgun and fired more than 40 9mm rounds. The motive is unknown at this time, and the shooter will be charged by the state.
The person police believe to be the shooter was at a Hampton Inn about 17 miles from the university in Providence, Rhode Island, where he was apprehended.
Brown University has canceled all classes and exams for the rest of the semester.
At least 11 people were killed at Australia’s Bondi Beach, which appeared to target the Jewish community, as at least two suspects attacked from a nearby bridge with long guns. People were gathered to celebrate on the first day of Hanukkah.
Of the two known suspects, one is dead and the other is in the hospital in a life-threatening condition.
