Elise Stefanik abruptly ended her campaign to unseat New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and is also giving up her Republican House seat in Congress next year.
Stefanik, 41, was the youngest woman to serve in the House when elected a decade ago. Elected as a moderate, she became full MAGA, and nearly became a UN ambassador.
Now she joins a growing list of MAGAts not seeking re-election.

Recent surveys showed Stefanik trailing Hochul by 19 points, as well as a Republican primary contender, Bruce Blakeman, entering the race. Trump declined to endorse either one.
She also said she would feel “profound regret” as a mother if she did not spend more time focused on her son.
