Videos contradict Trump’s claim Minn. driver ‘viciously ran over’ officer in fatal ICE shooting
President Donald Trump said the driver who was shot dead by an ICE officer in Minneapolis nearly killed him with her car. Here’s what the videos show.
It took just seven seconds for an encounter between Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and a driver in Minneapolis to turn deadly.
Videos of those moments, captured by witnesses’ cellphones and posted to social media, show how the confrontation escalated into gunshots that left a mother dead behind the wheel. The clips also contradict an account provided by President Donald Trump.
Trump’s 💩 Economy:
U.S. payrolls rose 50,000 in December, less than expected; unemployment rate falls to 4.4%
- Nonfarm payrolls rose a seasonally adjusted 50,000 in December, lower than the downwardly revised 56,000 in November and short of the Dow Jones estimate for 73,000.
- The unemployment rate fell to 4.4%, compared with the forecast for 4.5%. A more encompassing measure that includes discouraged workers and the underemployed dropped to 8.4%.
- Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% for the month, in line with the forecast, although the annual increase of 3.8% was 0.2 percentage point higher than expected.
