Updates on Trump and Bibi’s War With Iran:
Trump has been talking about just ending his war, even if the Strait of Hormuz isn’t reopened. Cut and run. @chrismurphyct.bsky.social breaks down this very real possibility: “Iran ends this war with more power… more influence in the Middle East than they started at the beginning of this war…”

KIRIAKOU: “When I was in the CIA, every time an Israeli prime minister came to Washington they said, 'Please help us bomb Iran’ — and the president always said NO. Until this one… now we’re in a war that’s not ours, that we can’t win. And there’s never an exit strategy.”

Lawyers for Rep. Swalwell demand that FBI director halt any plan to release old investigative file
Lawyers for Rep. Eric Swalwell demanded Monday that FBI Director Kash Patel immediately end any effort to release records from a decade-old investigation involving the California Democrat and a suspected Chinese operative that resulted in no criminal charges.
“The Congressman has never been accused of wrongdoing in that matter and your attempt to release the file is a transparent attempt to smear him and undermine his campaign for Governor of California,” said the cease-and-desist letter from Swalwell’s attorneys, Sean Hecker and Norm Eisen. “Your actions threaten to expose you, others at the FBI, and the FBI itself to significant legal liability. Indeed, disclosure of the investigative file would violate federal law in several respects.”
For those who do not know how things work:
Federal investigators alerted Swalwell to their concerns and briefed Congress about Fang in 2015, at which point Swalwell says he cut off contact with her. He was not accused of wrongdoing and a House Ethics Committee investigation that was opened in 2021 closed two years later without any action.

Whitaker's best known project before he was appointed as Trump's agent for the undermining of NATO was as the developer and promoter of a pump-and-dump scheme for urinals designed for "well endowed men." He has cultivated a Lex Luthor look for decades.

Congress approves bill barring presidents from unilaterally exiting NATO
Under the measure, advocated by Sens. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), the president would be prohibited from withdrawing from NATO without the approval of two-thirds of the Senate or separate legislation passed by Congress.
Kaine, in a statement, said that the provision in the defense policy bill affirmed “U.S. support for this crucial alliance” and sent “a strong message to authoritarians around the world that the free world remains united.”
Rubio said in a statement: “The Senate should maintain oversight on whether or not our nation withdraws from NATO. We must ensure we are protecting our national interests and protecting the security of our democratic allies.”
