Former DOJ special counsel Jack Smith’s testimony to the Republican led House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Gym Jordan, was released to the public — on New Year’s Eve.
Smith led the prosecutions of Trump until Trump won the 2024 election, effectively ending any attempt at holding Trump criminally liable for his attempts to overturn a free and fair election, and for his concealment of classified documents at his Florida shithole Mar-a-Lago, and his obstruction of the DOJ to retrieve them.
- In the testimony released on Wednesday, Smith argued that evidence proved Trump was criminally liable in both cases beyond a reasonable doubt.
- Smith’s sworn testimony repeatedly underscored that his conclusions were drawn by evidence, not politics.
