Power to the People!:
"El pueblo unido jamás será vencido" (the people united will never be defeated) was popularized as a protest chant in support of socialist Chilean presidential candidate, later pres., Salvador Allende. Allende was coup-ed by the CIA to allow for the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.

Trump Holds 2-Hour Meeting With Noem Amid Backlash to Minneapolis Shooting
The meeting is a sign that the president is concerned about the fallout from the killing of Alex Pretti, who was shot by immigration agents.
President Trump met Monday evening in the Oval Office with Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, and Corey Lewandowski, her top aide, for nearly two hours, as his administration tries to shift its strategy after federal agents killed a second Minneapolis resident over the weekend, according to two people briefed on the meeting.
The meeting came after Ms. Noem requested to see the president, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a private meeting.
Mr. Trump did not suggest during the meeting that either Ms. Noem’s or Mr. Lewandowski’s jobs were at risk, the people said. But it was the latest sign the president is concerned about the bipartisan criticism of the administration’s response to the killing of Alex Pretti, who was shot at roughly 10 times by immigration agents on Saturday after he was apparently filming them with his phone camera.

Gun rights groups slam feds’ comments after Minneapolis shooting
“I don’t know of any peaceful protesters that shows up with a gun and ammunition rather than a sign,” said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Several prominent Second Amendment rights groups have blasted federal officials for suggesting it’s dangerous – and possibly an indication of mal intent – for lawful gun owners to protest while in possession of their legally obtained firearms.

Judge threatens to hold acting ICE director in contempt for flouting court orders
The judge ordered Lyons to either appear in court and explain why ICE is violating a Jan. 14 court order to give a detainee a bond hearing or release the detainee.
Minnesota’s chief federal judge ordered the acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement to appear in court over what he says is the Trump administration’s repeated failure to grant detained immigrants bond hearings despite judicial orders.
The order was filed Monday and directs Todd Lyons, the acting director of ICE, to appear in court on Friday, Jan. 30, threatening possible contempt hearings.
“The court’s patience is at an end,” Chief Judge Patrick J. Schiltz wrote, admonishing the administration for its handling of bond hearings for immigrants it has detained during its monthslong immigration operation in Minnesota.
“Respondents have continually assured the Court that they recognize their obligation to comply with Court orders, and that they have taken steps to ensure that those orders will be honored going forward,” Schiltz’s order said. “Unfortunately, though, the violations continue.”
