Christopher Moynihan, 35, a pardoned January 6 rioter from New York, pleaded guilty to a harassment charge after he threatened to kill future Speaker Hakeem Jeffries in October.
Moynihan was charged with a felony in October after sending a text message to a friend:
“I cannot allow this terrorist to live,” Moynihan wrote, according to a report by a state police investigator. Moynihan also wrote that Jeffries “must be eliminated” and texted, “I will kill him for the future,” the police report says.
After originally being charged with a felony for threatening a public official, Moynihan pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor harassment charge in Clinton County, New York.
Moynihan agreed to three years of probation at the hearing, while sentencing is scheduled for April 6.
In February 2023, Moynihan was sentenced to 21 months in prison on charges including obstruction of an official proceeding, a felony, for his actions during the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
He was among the 1,590 Trump supporters charged with attacking the Capitol building, most of whom were pardoned on Trump’s first day back in office in January 2025.
