FCC Chair Brendan Carr on Saturday threatened broadcasters that they will lose their licensing if they do not “operate in the public interest.” The statement from Carr was posted to X after Trump whined about the Wall Street Journal’s reporting of U.S. refueling planes being struck during an Iranian missile strike on an air base in Saudi Arabia.

Carr urged broadcasters to “correct course before their license renewals come up.”
“Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not,” he said.
