Trump Endorses Former Fox ‘News’ Host Steve Hilton for Governor of California

The lower polling Democratic candidates need to exit the race so CA does not end up with Republican Governor.

Trump took to his shithole, ‘Truth’ Social and endorsed Steve Hilton, a former Fox ‘News’ host to become California’s next governor. Since the majority of Californians do not support Trump nor his policies and brand of fascism, hopefully, Trump’s endorsement will be a kiss of death for Hilton’s campaign.

The race to replace the term-limited Newsom features eight prominent Democratic candidates and two prominent Republicans. Trump’s endorsement of Hilton, an ex-aide to former British Prime Minister David Cameron, comes at the expense of the other major GOP candidate, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco. But all candidates will appear on the same primary ballot in what’s known as California’s “jungle” primary on June 2.

For those who do not know how things work:

California has what is known as a “jungle” primary where all candidates, regardless of political affiliation, appear on the same ballot. The top two candidates will face one another in the general election. Meaning: two members of the Democratic Party could face off in November, a Republican and a Democratic candidate could face off, or—the worst case scenario: Two Republicans could face off in November setting the stage for a Republican governor in 2027.

How to Prevent a Catastrophe:

The fear is the party’s 24 listed candidates will undercut each other and divide the Democratic vote into small fractions,

Three Democratic candidates — Congressman Swalwell, former Congresswoman Porter, and climate advocate Steyer — each have about the same number of likely voters. The other five Democratic candidates (Becerra, Villaraigosa, Mahan, Yee, and Thurmond) each draw a smaller share of likely voters.

So far, the interventions from Democratic officials have been confined to the call from state party chair Rusty Hicks for low-polling candidates to consider dropping out. But many party strategists believe that elevating one of the party’s contenders into the top two will require endorsements from some combination of party leaders including Newsom, Sen. Alex Padilla and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

California Governor's primary race. Yes, Republicans are trying to cheat.
