American Jesus has recorded video of himself reading Bible scriptures from the Oval Office. The video will be released next week during an eight-day celebration of the Bible.
“On April 21, President Trump is scheduled to read Scripture via video message from the Oval Office during the 6 p.m. EST hour,” a press release from organizers reads. The event is called “America Reads The Bible.”
The event is organized by Washington D.C.’s Museum of the Bible commemorating 250 years of the Bible in America, and will also include readings by Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Doug Collins, and Susie Wiles over the week.
The weeklong event comes after Trump has fueled a feud with the Pope, and shared images of himself as Jesus, later walking back his colossal “blasphemous” post by suggesting he thought he was posting an image of himself as a doctor.

In the two and a half minute video, Trump will read from a passage in 2 Chronicles that includes: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Bunni Pounds, the founder of Christians Engaged and an organizer of the event, explained, “It’s a scripture about repentance. None of us are perfect.”
Margaret Susan Thompson, professor of history and political science said the verse has been seen by many Evangelical Christians as a “justification of calling upon God to bless their nation.”
