Stephen Colbert’s final week at CBS is coming fast as The Late Show has revealed the schedule for the last four episodes beginning on Monday and culminating on Thursday, May 21.
Colbert took over “The Late Show” from David Letterman in 2015, who joined Colbert as a guest this week to throw furniture off the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater.
- On Monday May 18, the show will highlight “The Worst of the Late Show” in what the network is dubbing “Not a Clip Show!”
- On Tuesday May 19, Colbert’s guests will be Jon Stewart and Stephen Spielberg, with Colbert performing a musical bit.
- On Wednesday May 20, Colbert will subject himself to a Colbert “Questionert,” and will feature Bruce Springsteen as a musical guest.
- On the last episode Thursday May 21, the guest list is still secret for the big send-off.
On May 21, both Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are airing reruns in order to focus on Colbert’s finale.
CBS canceled the Late Show in January as parent company Paramount (with Trump ally David Ellison at the helm) capitulated to the Trump administration’s fascist interference when they held an $18 billion merger with Skydance Media hostage. CBS was also enmeshed in a $16 million lawsuit brought by Trump over a “60 Minutes” episode with Kamala Harris. The cancellation was characterized by CBS as a “purely financial decision.”
CBS is not replacing the time slot with another guest, with plans to lease the 11:30 time slot to the syndicated show “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen.”
