Hoping there are some fun events on your holiday weekend schedules, but if you are looking for an entertaining hour, Stephen Colbert had a surprise up his sleeve on Friday, one day after his “Late Show” ended.
Colbert hosted an hour long program as the guest host of “Only in Monroe,” from a public access studio in Monroe County, Michigan. Familiar digs to Stephen, as he guest hosted the program once before in 2015.
Musician Jack White, a native Michigander, served as the musical director, and the broadcast included appearances from Jeff Daniels (another Michigander), Steve Buscemi, and Eminem (yes, him too). Regular hosts of the show, Michelle Baumann and Kaye Lani Rafko-Wilson (a former Miss America), joined Stephen to imbibe with shots of local liquors and interviewed after toking on helium balloons.
