Atlantic Reporter Explores Trump’s Embrace of “The Gays”

The Atlantic’s Ashley Parker published “The King of Queens” on Thursday, an article that explores the 47th president’s love of handsome men, “especially the muscular ones.”

While Trump has been married three times and says he loves women and to grab them by the p*ssy, he also is quick to point out the visual splendor of a muscled military man, and is quick to choose cabinet members who appear to be prime targets of “central casting,” claims Parker.

Parker, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, points out several examples of Trump praising the physiques of men, some who are gay, and some who are not.

  • Trump remarked on Arnold Palmer’s manliness in 2024:  “I love women, but this guy—this guy—this is a guy that was all man… When he took showers with the other pros, they came out of there—they said, Oh my God, that’s unbelievable.”
  • Of military pilots in the Oval Office: “They’re perfect specimens.”
  • A former Iowa state senator: “He looks like the Marlboro Man.”
  • The President of Paraguy: “Young, handsome guy. It’s always nice to be young and handsome.”
  • Of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, a MAGAt, Trump called him a “beautiful guy,” and waxed poetic about his legs, “like tree trunks.”

Parker pointed out the history of association with several gays.

  • In his early days as a real estate developer, Trump was mentored by Roy Cohn, the legendary and ruthless New York lawyer and political fixer, who was gay.
  • Ric Grenell became the first openly-gay person to become a cabinet member under Trump (no pun intended), and Grenell later called him the “most pro-gay president in American history.”
  • Today there is Scott Bessent, the current Treasury Secretary, of whom Trump noted,  “under that beautiful exterior is a killer.”

There are also the plethora of cues, musical and social, that note his embrace of the gay culture.

“Y.M.C.A.,” by the Village People, is considered “the gay national anthem,” and also happens to be one of his favorite rally songs.

He’s obsessed with Elton John.

His opulent gilded interior design style resembles that of Liberace.

He allowed gays at the club in Palm Beach in the 90s, and even allowed a gay wedding to take place at Mar-a-Lago in 2024.

Media sources from both political sides have declared Trump to be pro-gay.
