With the Maine primary days away and voting already underway, Maine voters appear to be sticking with the controversial Senate candidate Graham Platner.
Platner looks ahead to unseating Susan Collins, and primary competitor Governor Janet Mills has resisted calls to reactivate her campaign against Platner.
Marine veteran and oyster farmer Platner rallied with Ro Khanna at his side in Bar Harbor on Friday, to convince Maine voters that he will have their backs as they have had his through multiple reports of questionable reported behavior.
There are also Maine voters who will support Platner with a bit of reluctance.
Sandra Braden: Braden is not sure she believes he didn’t know he was sporting a Nazi tattoo, and isn’t sure he’s a changed man, but “I’m going to vote for him, yeah, but I don’t like it. I’m not in favor of all that s**t,” she said.
Woody Hayward: Hayward knows Maine needs “fresh blood” but believes the controversies around Platner are troublesome and disheartening. “But what else – what else do we have, right?” he asked.
And there’s the Daily Jessica:
And then there’s Senator John Fetterman:
Fetterman is encouraging Democrats to get behind Janet Mills and has been outspoken about Platner, calling him a “dirtbag” and referring to him as P-Hustle (Platner’s internet pseudonym).
